Income Tax Act

At present, direct taxes in Bangladesh is governed by Bangladesh Income Tax Ordinance, 1984. Since than, tax law has been regularly updated. In 2013, Government of Bangladesh has initiated steps to modernize the tax law by proposing ‘Direct Taxes Code, 2013’. However, it has not been in made effective yet. Till Now the the income taxation is governed by The Income Taxes Ordinance, 1994 and related Rules & SROs.
