Appropriations Bill, 2018 has been passed today (28 June 2018) in the National Parliament. The Appropriations Bill, 2018 included the Bangladesh National Budget for the fiscal year 2018-2019. Earlier this month, Finance Minister AMA Muhith proposed national budget for the year 2018-2019. After passing the Appropriations Bill, 2018 in the vocal vote by the members of the parliament, it has become the Appropriations Act, 2018 which will be effecting from the first date of July 2018.
The Tk 4,64,573 crore national budget for 2018-19 has set the GDP growth target at 7.8 per cent in a bid to further alleviate poverty, reduce inequalities and bring basic and qualitative changes in the living standards of the country’s people.
Earlier on 27th June 2018, the House passed the Finance Bill-2018, with some changes in VAT and tariff rates, aiming to boost the ICT sector and promote local industries will will be known as the Finance Act 2018 and will be effective from the first date of July 2018.
